LIONS PARK

Public BBQ

Lions Park in Echuca offers a peaceful riverside escape just off the main tourist circuit. Positioned along the Campaspe River, the park functions primarily as an access point to the excellent paved cycling and walking track that follows the waterway. The location hosts the Echuca Moama Parkrun every Saturday morning at 8am, drawing a steady stream of early risers to its riverside setting. The facilities are refreshingly straightforward: outdoor grills for a barbecue, bench seating, a single BBQ hotplate, and drinking fountains scattered throughout. A modest fenced playground sits reassuringly close to the river – basic but practical for families needing a contained play space. Clean toilets and car parking provide convenient access to the track, though the park sits beneath Ogilvie Avenue, bringing occasional traffic noise and the less charming consequence of litter accumulation. What sets Lions Park apart is its quiet, no-frills character. Away from Echuca''s bustling paddle steamer precinct, it delivers exactly what families need for a lunch stop: tables, birds, river views, and breathing room. The paved path along the Campaspe makes it particularly worthwhile for cyclists and walkers seeking a scenic route.
